Ohio Insurance License Updates

On February 25, 2010, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland signed House Bill 300 into law. This bill incorporates national licensing standards designed by state insurance regulators and industry trade associations into Chapter 3905 of the Ohio Revised Code.

The changes are an effort to bring Ohio into uniformity with NAIC standards as to insurance agent licensing and oversight. The amendments will streamline the agent licensing process and strengthen consumer protections. The amendments will benefit not only insurance agents who obtain licensure in Ohio and other states, but Ohio consumers can rest assured that only qualified and approved agents are operating with Ohio Insurance Licenses.
