Real Estate Degree FAQ

1. Why should I pursue an Associate's degree in Real Estate or Sales?

Many students feel great personal pride and satisfaction in achieving the life goal of earning a Degree. If you've decided to devote yourself to a career in Real Estate or Sales, advanced education in these specific fields can be just the thing to ensure your success! Here's what our graduates gain:

  • Be able to address client needs more effectively, increasing client satisfaction, thus leading to a steady stream of referrals.
  • Differentiate yourself from your competition. You can market yourself as an expert, one of a select few professionals who've invested their time to earn a Real Estate or Sales Degree.
  • Increase your confidence, an essential to success in any selling field!
  • Be more prepared for a promotion, such as a management or recruiting position in a larger company.
  • Be prepared for the Ohio Real Estate Broker's Exam, by completing the 4 Prerequisite courses.

2. I already have a degree, why would I want to pursue another degree now?

Specific advanced education in the field of Real Estate or Sales will benefit you whether or not you already have a college degree. In fact, the more industry specific education students receive the more prepared they are for their new career, the more credible they are to their clients, and the more referrals they will gain. In addition, most degree holders will likely find that they have many credits that will transfer into a Hondros College degree, making completion of a Real Estate or Sales Degree much easier than originally expected.

3. Will I pay additional fees for college credit?

Degree classroom courses cost $210 per credit hour. To earn college credit, students must complete our College Credit Application and submit a one time only $25 application fee.

4. How long will it take me to complete the program?

With no previous college courses, a typical associate's degree program would take approximately two years. With previous college attendance, transfer credits could shorten the length of time needed to complete your degree program.

5. I have already taken some college courses — will they count?

We accept transfer credit from other accredited colleges and universities. Your transcripts will be evaluated after you request them and have them sent to Hondros College. Credit hours can transfer if they are equivalent in the number of credit hours, course title, and/or course description and if you earned at least a "C" grade. If you have taken your Real Estate Pre-licensing courses at Hondros College on or after January 1, 1990, you already have 12 credit hours that may apply.

6. What is pre-work?

Due to the accelerated nature of our classes, it may be necessary to do reading or assignments before coming to your first day of class. Not all classes will have pre-work, so your instructor will notify you at least one (1) week before class begins if there is work for you to complete. Therefore, we recommend that you register, pay, and pick up your textbooks no later than 1 week prior to the start of class so that you may successfully complete any assigned pre-work.
